Train the Trainer

This module provides direction for a person who will conduct training for others at the jobsite using the SML COVID-19 Construction Site Training for Workers module. There are several prompts where site-specific or expanded information can be added if desired.

Site Training for Workers

This module aims to provide day 1 site orientation topics related to COVID-19. Topics include signs and symptoms of COVID-19, guidelines for meetings and crews, recommendations for PPE and work practice controls, and how to clean and disinfect common areas, tools, and equipment.

What is COVID-19?

Provides the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and gives workers a list of vetted sources of more information.

Cleaning and Disinfection

Provides recommendations for cleaning common areas, bathroom facilities, and trash removal. How to clean after a confirmed case and appropriate disinfectants are also discussed.

PPE Personal Protective Equipment

Discusses the 100% use of gloves and safety glasses, and alternative controls to using N95 respirators.

Best Regulatory Practices

Specific to NYC DOB guidance for construction jobsites for meetings, hygiene and cleaning, monitoring symptoms, and other ways to reduce the spread of germs.

Exposure Scenarios

Works through several “what if” scenarios and what to do in the case of a worker testing positive for COVID-19, being symptomatic, or being exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

Responsibilities for the Site

Details the responsibilities of managers, supervisors, and employees related to COVID-19 prevention on the jobsite.  Jobsite protective activities related to visitors, deliveries, and working in occupied buildings and residences are also discussed.

Social Distancing and Hygiene

Provides recommendations for social distancing for crews, the jobsite, and safety meetings and other gatherings. Personal hygiene and cleaning of tools, vehicles, and equipment are also discussed.

Respirator Use
